Abondance |
The nearest large village for shopping, banks, ski and bike hire, post office, restaurants and bars, tourist information office etc., is Abondance.
Abondance is approx. 5 -10 mins drive. There are also several other excellent restaurants within easy reach of the chalet. |
Summer Activities:

In summer, the house is ideally located for a variety of holiday activities. There are beautiful walks from the house and extensive graded walks at all levels in the vicinity. There is also river rafting and canoeing, mountain bike trails, road bike routes taken by the Tour de France, tennis, hang gliding, horse riding etc.
In the summer the ski lifts in the Portes du Soleil are converted to carry mountain bikes. The Col de Corbier has internationally renowned climbing available. |

Lake Geneva is half an hour away for swimming, boating and steamer trips and golf. There are also 3 open air swimming pools nearer the house at Bernex, Chatel and Morzine, and thermal baths at Val D'Illiez near Champery. In the summer mountain and climbing equipment can be hired locally.
Winter Activities:
For winter holidays there is a wide choice of skiing and other winter sports within easy reach by car. The nearest skiing is on the Col de Corbier - the house is approximately 10 minutes, 400 metres from the nearest ski lift. The Col de Corbier is a small friendly ski station, with buttons and chair lifts. It includes good nursery and intermediate slopes, green, blue and red runs, and certain of the red runs are rather demanding. It is a small friendly ski station in which lift passes, lessons, bars, restaurants, and ski hire are very reasonably priced.
| There is also of course easy access to major resorts in the vast Portes du Soleil ski region - Abondance/Chapelle - 10 mins, Chatel -20 mins, Morzine/Avoriaz - 20 mins, Les Gets - 30 mins etc. Bernex ski station 15 mins. There is an excellent cross country skiing network from Abondance - the nearest village to the house (3 km). Ski equipment can be hired locally at very competitive rates. Both indoor and outdoor ice-skating is also available in the area & guided Snow Shoe Walking & Off Piste Skiing is available. |

Excursions may be taken to amongst other locations Chamonix, St. Bernard Pass, Aosta in Italy, Montreux, Berne, Verbier and Zermatt in Switzerland.
